Safe Communities

A safe community is a place that is attractive to live, work or visit. A safe community is a liveable community, where people can go about their daily activities in an environment that is without fear, risk of harm or injury. Community safety is not only about reducing and preventing injury and violence; it is also about wellbeing and building strong, cohesive, vibrant, and participatory communities.
This ensures that homes, the roads, public spaces and the workplaces are safe for everyone to enjoy.

We work with communities to identify and build the needed structure, programs and activities that leads to the emergence of safe communities.

A major Safe Communities intervention of Development Dynamics is the 100 Solar Powered Street Lights installed in Ezeagbogu community, to help keep the community safe at night. The project was implemented by Development Dynamics with funding support of the Embassy of Japan through her Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Project (GGP) scheme. The project was commissioned on the 17th of July 2019 by the Ambassador of Japan to Nigeria, Chief Yutaka Kikuta and Governor of Imo State, Chief Emeka Ihedioha.
